ABOUT THE SHOGUN

San Diego's Premier Long-Range Vessel

The Shogun is a 90-foot by 30-foot steel vessel, operated by owner-operator René Monteagudo alongside Captain Conor Shanahan.

Designed with both comfort and performance in mind, the Shogun is equipped with two RSW (Refrigerated Sea Water) tanks to ensure your catch stays sushi-grade fresh throughout your trip.

The main deck features a spacious dining salon and a private two-person stateroom (“A”), along with two restrooms—one of which includes a shower. Below deck, you’ll find 12 additional staterooms, each designed for two or three passengers, as well as two full bathrooms, both equipped with showers.

For your convenience, the vessel is outfitted with Starlink internet, offering complimentary Wi-Fi to all passengers.

All meals are included with your fare, and our talented chefs are known for delivering exceptional cuisine. We’re happy to accommodate dietary preferences, restrictions, and allergies with advance notice.

The Shogun sails out of Fisherman's Landing, located at 2838 Garrison Street in San Diego's Point Loma neighborhood. There is ample parking available at the landing.

Long-range trips target a variety of prized gamefish including bluefin tuna, yellowfin tuna, yellowtail, wahoo, dorado, grouper, and more. The specific species depend on the trip length, season, and fishing grounds visited.

We have tackle and gear available for rent aboard the Shogun. You're also welcome to bring your own equipment. Our crew can advise on the best setup for the species we'll be targeting on your trip. Check our recommended tackle page for suggestions.

Yes, a valid California fishing license is required. For trips that fish in Mexican waters, a Mexican fishing permit is also required and can be purchased at Fisherman's Landing before departure. Permit costs are not included in the trip fare.

Absolutely! We offer private charters for groups up to 28 anglers. Whether it's a corporate event, fishing club outing, or special occasion, contact us directly to discuss your private charter needs and customize your trip.
